Last weekend in April

We covered a lot this weekend.  We're already spending time over at the house. Making lists, contemplating what to do with that darn sun room and picking out carpet.

We went to an 80s party for one of John's co-workers 40th bday. Check out my hair and bedazzled sweater. I went the whole Knots Landing/Dynasty route. It was fun!  And look at that cake. It's a boom box...incredible!

We also hit up Sol Food.  One of the best restaurants in San Rafael that I'm sure we'll take you all to at some point. It really does feel like you are stepping right into Puerto Rico.  I started daydreaming about taking a warm weather vacation. And of course, the food is fantastic. And the limeade is heavenly.

Kimberly comes and visits me!

John went to CT for Tom's 70th birthday last weekend and I stayed back since I don't get a lot of time off.  Kimberly was able to find a cheap ticket and came out to keep me company. We had a jam-packed weekend between going to the DeYueng on Friday night to see the Warhol exhibit, dinner in the Marina, lots of walks to the park and around Pacific Heights with Cole, trips over to the house and Home Depot to start our carpet selection and over to Tiburon for lunch at Sam's. And that's just some of what we did!  She's such a dear friend to me and I love her to pieces.  Thanks for coming out, KT. San Francisco can't wait to have you back!

The Big E in SD 2009

Very memorable trip.

The RB Inn treated us well as always.

I think Cole enjoyed his one and only trip to San Diego (never again. glad we tried it.  but between staying at the RB, two kids, another dog and all that we had going on.  It was just too much).

The drive sucked.

John probably taught Caroline a word or two that she probably didn't already know.

We got our Chuck E Cheese fix for a couple of months.

We enjoyed hearing Uncle E play the banjo.

We saw more Easter bunnies than I think I've seen in the last 10 years.  And next year WILL be the year we get Caroline within 2 feet of one ALL BY HERSELF!

Oh, I ended my Lenten Fast. It was pretty awesome.

Grandpa managed his way into our thoughts.

Luke was so brave on the pony.

And mom finally got her family picture.

I'd call that a good trip?!

Greetings from cold and rainy San Diego!

We got here Thursday night.  Seems like we brought San Francisco-ish weather with us.  It's cold and rainy. Boo...

Yesterday, we had an Easter Egg hunt in mom and dad's hotel room.  Here's a picture of us hiding in the bathroom while mom hides the eggs. Too, John is trying to teach Caroline how to catch goldfish in her mouth. Here's them practicing.  She thinks it's hilarious.

First San Francisco Bay Sail

We took a Club Sail with the Modern Sailing Club on Saturday. It was a beautiful day!  It wasn't the best wind for sailing, but there were amazing views of the city, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge and Baker Beach.  We saw plenty of seals, too! I even pulled the jib sheet, and the main sheet, a little bit.  John says, "you did good, honey."

I can't wait to do it again!
