Missing Daddy

John is in LA this week. Night one went WAY better than we had expected. Here's some pictures I took for John while Ellie chilled out on her Baby Einstein Gym.

Uncle E Visit

Uncle E stopped by Sunday morning. Lookin' good!

Red Sox Game

Ellie's First. I was proud of us. It was our first long outing as a family.

Father's Day

Father's Day was special for us this year as it was John's first. We celebrated by going to church and I prepared a picnic for us at McNear's beach afterwards. I also made John's favorite dessert, banana pudding.

Four Weeks Old

I am constantly amazed by how fast the time is going by. Week four was a good week. We got in lots of walks with Alicia and Charlotte and John when he got home at night, went to a Mommies Group on Thursday, had Carrie over on Friday, ran errands with Daddy on Saturday, had dinner at Steve and Lisa's Saturday night and Father's Day (will post pics once I upload from the fancy camera) after church at McNear's Beach on Sunday.

Unfortunately, I got mastitis again on Sunday, so I am starting off Week Five a little under the weather. We're working through it and everyone has been very supportive, Mom, Christy, John, Sarah, my doctor and the lactation consultant. We'll rally. We always do. In the meantime, we've just been chilling out at home, me, Ellie and Cole.

Week Three Update

The week really flew by! I can't believe it's already Friday. It was our first full week with John back at work. We missed him a lot and looked forward to him coming home every night. He had a busy week at work but still managed to get home every night at a good time to see his girls, and he took good care of us by making dinner, cleaning up and holding Ellie. Unfortunately, her "worst" hours happen to be from about 5-8 everyday, so Daddy doesn't always get to see her sweetest side. :)

Thinking back this morning I realized that we made a lot of progress this week. We're getting better at breastfeeding, we're doing tummy time, she's sleeping in her crib at night, her umbilical cord officially came off, and she's starting to wear some of the fun clothes from Cousin Morgan that Aunt Christy was so kind to send us. Too, we got out a few times and are really getting a hang of the car seat and we're using the Snap N Go to get around. It's nice to get out and the Snap N Go makes it so easy.

Week Two Happenings

John went back to work yesterday, so Ellie and I had our first few days on our own. We've stayed busy. We had a visit from Erin and Bart who are in town for Bart's mom's 60th birthday. And I made meatloaf for the first time. Today we hung out while our window got replaced for the second time, and then we went on a walk with Charlotte and Alicia.

Here are some photos from a little shoot I did for her birth announcement yesterday.

Ellie and Charlotte Meet

Charlotte lives across the street from us. She was born six days after Ellie. Her parents are Jonathan and Alicia. We're excited that Alicia is on maternity leave the same time as me. We're going to be spending a lot of time together. Here is the girls first picture together.
